Calculation details

Uncorrected z: (raw score − normative mean) / normative SD
Predicted score: intercept + β(age) + β(sex) + β(education), using only variables in the selected correction method.
Prediction error SD: SEE × √[1 + (1 + q) / n], where q is the demographic leverage term based on standardised predictors and the relevant inverse correlation matrix.
Corrected z: (raw score − predicted score) / prediction error SD.
Composite: the six uncorrected domain z scores are combined using the selected semantic-fluency variant, standardised with the workbook composite SD, then demographically corrected using the workbook composite regression.
The calculator reproduces the regression coefficients, demographic descriptive statistics, standard errors of estimate, inverse correlation matrices, raw-score norms and composite norms embedded in the supplied BACS sample workbook. Descriptive labels are assigned from the supplied Psychometric Conversion Table using the nearest integer Standard Score (SS = 100 + 15z). Values outside the table range are capped only for description/percentile lookup, not for the displayed z score.
